YOUTH MENTOR
The Youth Mentor Program matches youth who are wards of the province, ages 6-18, with an adult role model. Most youth are referred by the Ministry of Social Services.
The youth and the adult spend time together developing a positive, healthly, trusting relationship that helps the youth to develop social, relationship and life skills.
It's about fun! The youth and the mentor engage in community and recreational activities like swimming, skating, frisbee, football, library visits, and much more. They spend one-on-one time together addressing the needs of the youth. If there is a particular goal that the youth is working towards, the youth mentor will be there as an on-side adult to encourage them to achieve that goal and find ways to do it.
To find out more about the program please contact the Youth Mentor Program Coordinator at (306) 525-0521
