In 2014 the Board of Catholic Family Services (CFS) Regina made a commitment to pursue new services and revenue streams. The Board instructed the Executive Director to explore the plausibility of creating a day care for CFS Regina.

The Executive Director along with the management team started to explore options of having CFS and a daycare combined in one facility. Finding a facility large enough to house this initiative was proving to be a challenge.

A new site came to light May 26th when the Saskatchewan Government put Dale’s House, located at 160 McIntosh Street facility out for tender. A team from CFS toured the facility and were excited that the facility had enough space and would meet the needs of the agency’s future plans.

CFS was approached by Isla Ventures Inc., a group of investors interested in purchasing 160 McIntosh Street with the intent of leasing the building to CFS Regina. Isla Ventures Inc. submitted a proposal to the Saskatchewan Government, the bid was well received and the tender awarded to Isla Ventures Inc. under the development of Richard Jankowski.

The new facility is 8100 square feet, has a large green space and is located on the cusp of Arthur Park. Also nearby are local churches, shopping, gas stations and schools.

The north wing of the building will house a 50 space daycare with toddler and pre-school spaces. The south wing and basement will house the programs of CFS.

Our organization is grateful to Isla Ventures Inc. for presenting us with this opportunity. Together we share a vision of a professional facility that supports the mission of CFS to bring about healing, stability and wholeness in the lives of families and individuals through our programs and services.

We will share details and photos of the facility through its transformation as we look forward to moving and expanding our services in spring 2016!
