Children Coping with Separation and Divorce
 

This program aides children aged 8-11 in understanding and coping with the changes that occur following their parents separation or divorce. Through fun and educational activities group facilitators work with children to gain skills and knowledge to help them through this process. A preliminary interview involving parent (one or both) and child is required before beginning the program.

Adult Groups

 

Reaching out... When teens are out of control

 

This parenting group offers support, problem solving, and education to parents coping with their youth who are difficult to manage. Topics covered include: typical teenage behavior, appropriate expectations and consequences, establishing authority in the home, and enjoying your teen. Group will be facilitated by Brian Mc Donald.

Cost: There is no fee for this group. It is fully funded by the Ministry of Social Services.

Participants: There is a maximum of 12 so register early.

Nobody's Perfect
 

Is a parenting education program for parents of children aged birth to five.  The goals of Nobody’s Perfect is to promote positive parenting, increase parent’s understanding of children’s health, safety and behavior, build on the skills parent’s already have and learn new ones. This group runs for 6 weeks, and is open to parents already receiving services through Families First and Family Support programs. However, parents do not need to be receiving services through Families First and Family Support in order to attend. There is no fee to attend this program.
